Still likes to dress up

Super excited to post this link from our "talented fashion designer-amazing inside & out young woman" friend's blog especially since we know the model well {Does the model in the red and white dress look like she could be my daughter?}

Recent Cards

In Novemeber, I made cards that represented new life and cards that represented the loss of life.  Below I have posted two of them.  Praise God that this life on Earth is only temporal and we have the gift of eternal life with our Redeemer and Creator {our gift for the asking as promised in God's Word}.

Paper-Crafting After a Move

Made the following cards in recent weeks:

My family and i moved across town at the end of July so that meant packing up my beloved craft studio (along with the rest of our house), then turning around and unpacking said craft studio.  In addition to moving, we have also been living through the tail-end of a whole house renovation for 3 months.  With my nest nearly complete now, just this week I have started to create paper-craft projects more regularly again.  And oh how glorious it is to be creating again...

From My Garden...

I love these wonderfully tall hydrangeas God has graciously grown in our yard this summer!  We planted them in front of our house last summer when they were just babies.  "We" planted them, as in the landscapers we paid to plant them planted them--since I am more of a brown thumb than a green thumb.  I typically water our houseplants when they are wilting and begging for a drink.  I enjoy pretty flowers but I haven't taken the time to become gardener {yet}.  We are in the process of moving from one house to another house and I sense that in our new house, I will finally start to become a gardener.  I think my green thumb mom and green thumb mom-in-law will be delighted to hear this news...

Yet Another Baby Gift

My favorite gifts to make are baby gifts.  At the end of June, I created this magnetic board,  along with glass magnets, and a matching card for my hair stylist who is expecting her first child in July.  I painted the frame using her baby's room colors--gray and coral.  I love making things in custom colors and these magnetic boards are a breeze to make!

Another Baby Girl Gift

Friends of ours just had their 5th child.  All of their children (5 and under) are adorable!  We visited with them today, bringing them dinner and gifts for the children.   We are convinced that they are baby whisperers...  Babies are a great way to start people--God knew how to hook us!  Anyway, I whipped up this pink flower embellished onesie yesterday.  The fabric circles (flowers) were left over from the t-shirt that I embellished last month so the instructions are the same.  The pink and brown card I made for sweet baby girl coordinates with the super soft pink with brown monogrammed Pottery Barn stroller blanket.  I have given several of these blankets for baby gifts over the years.  I just adore monograms for babies. Actually for children of all ages. And for adults. Does one ever really outgrow monograms?  Not me!

For MOJO Monday #261

Here is the MOJO (MOJO261) Sketch Challenge:

And here is my submission:
I made this card on this cold and rainy day.  The stamp is from Verve's Joy for the Journey stamp set, the dsp is Everyday Enchantment by SU.  I cut a fabric flower (using my Big Shot) from a swatch of Moda's Fandango fabric collection.  The card base is SU's Crumbcake cardstock and the accent cardstock is SU's Soft Suede and Very Vanilla.  Inks are Pool Party and Calypso Coral.  Regarding the ribbon, the pleated striped ribbon is from a vintage store; the linen thread and Crumbcake seam binding ribbon are both by SU.  The lovely button is from an old sweater!  I actually liked the buttons more than the sweater!

Magnetic Board for Baby's Room

I made this magnetic board, matching magnets, and card for dear friends who are having their first baby soon.    Want to see what else I bought for them?  I bought an adorable Baby Bible (not pictured) and also these handmade additional items from Etsy:

The Carry Me onesie is from:

The burp cloth set is from:

a Tale of two Tees

I made this quick embellished floral tee last week.  I started with a plain pink tee (photo below). Using my SU Big Shot die-cutting machine, I cut up the second tee for the flowers.  I used the 3 larger circles from the Circles#2 die to make the flowers.  I think I used about 15 sets of flowers.  This is the final result (photo on the right).
